Magnesium: Magnesium bisglycinate
Magnesium bisglycinate is a chelate: two molecules of glycine, the smallest amino acid, close around the magnesium ion like a pair of claws.
Because the magnesium stays enclosed in that bond, it does not sit in the gut as a free ion. Magnesium oxide, by contrast, binds water and can have a laxative effect. Bisglycinate is therefore gentle on the stomach even taken daily, and that is exactly what we chose for CALM.
